Learning Huddle provides accurate information and lots of helpful pictures for the topics you teach
At Learning Huddle, we're passionate about education. We
supply fully researched topic sites that are ideal for cross
curriculum learning or for teaching a particular topic. We
produce all of our topics especially for children. The

Each topic has been written carefully to ensure that it is

the era (like social change medicine etc) and information
about famous people and sites (like Charles Dickens and the
Blackpool tower). The number of pages within each topic
varies but generally there are between 30 and 50 pages.

One easy way to keep children interested in a topic is to
show them lots of relevant photos. When we started the site
we always believed this was an important aspect of a topic.
This is subsequently been confirmed by teachers when they've
used the site. Today we have thousands of full colour
photographs throughout the topics. These photographs have
been carefully selected to fit with the topic material. They
make it simple if you want to build classroom wall displays
or perhaps handouts and fact sheets.
| Handouts |
Each topic is split into a number of pages. These pages can
be printed out easily using the custom print button. This
allows you to easily create handouts about specific ideas.
Each page also allows you to simply copy and paste the
material. This makes it really easy if you want to create
custom handouts for your classroom. You simply copy and
paste the text into a separate document. You can also cut
and paste in the photos.

| Wall displays |
Handouts are only one of the ideas for using the material on
the site. You can easily build large wall displays to
accompany them. Why not follow the handout theme through
onto the wall display by using the larger photos and then
customise the display for your school.

| Fact sheets |
Fact sheets are a great way for pupils to learn. With the
material in the various topics they are easy to prepare. Why
not print out a few pages from a topic and some of the
photos and get the pupils to build a series of fact cards.
The cards can have photos and drawings. They can also be
used outside by the children if you laminate them For
example build some mini beast fact cards and then get the
children to search outside for each of the mini beasts on
the cards.

| Quizzes |
Quizzes are a great way to interest children. A simple idea
is to use the topic cards to create missing word cards. It's
simple to do. Get a copy of the worksheet and cover up the
words that you want the children to guess, Alternatively why
not set up a "TV quiz show" with a quiz master and
participants from the class. The pupils can have different
roles and if you've the facilities you can video the whole
show: just like the real thing!

| Questionnaires |
Each topic page can easily be converted wither by you or by
older pupils into a questionnaire. Simply pick out the key
facts form each sheet and create a question (or a series of
them). The pupils can then use the generated questionnaires
to ask parents, pupils or staff within the school about
particular topics. One idea is to make picture
questionnaires. Simply cut out the pictures and then show
them to people and ask if they know what or who they are.

| Flash cards |
Flash cards are great for younger pupils and using the
Learning Huddle materials they are easy to produce. It's a
simple but highly effective use of the photographs. Simply
print them out and stick them onto some card. You could also
laminate them to ensure they can be reused over and over,
year after year. You'll find that you can make the cards
relevant to the topics and you can also share them with
others in your school.

These are only a few of the many ways that you can use the
Learning Huddle topics. They make it easy to focus on the
ideas since all the research has been done. You don't need
to spend hours looking of the internet. You don't need to
